St Michael’s @ Newton School
The church-plant of St Michaels @ Newton School is a less traditional congregation which meets at 10am on Sundays in Newton School, Kingsway West. We highly value our relationships – with God, with each other and with those amongst whom we live and work. We seek to support one another to live as disciples in all aspects of our lives. The congregation numbers around 70 with about a third of that number being 18 years or under. Our values are described here (pdf attached).
We have a fairly relaxed approach to Sunday mornings – services begin with breakfast in the form of freshly baked bread, sausages fresh fruit and toast is available alongside fresh coffee or tea.
We have a creative and experimental approach to our service times – We worship and share together. We open God’s word and we pray for each other. All the time we seek to experience God’s presence among us.
The majority of people in the church have a role on Sunday – from stewards to preachers to serving refreshments to working with our children and young people.
Our Sunday morning children’s groups are at present:
Splashers – For under 10s
Pathfinders – 10-14s
Plus:
We have a strong group of 15-18 year olds. Many are involved with our worship band on Sunday mornings and with our children’s groups. During the week they attend GODSTUFF and FISH. Information on these groups can be found here – Youthwork.

Coming from the city, go north along Hoole Road, and turn left intoNewton Lane. Travel along Newton Lane and over the bridge. The school is on your left, but you need to go on and turn left down Brook Lane. Then turn left again into Kingsway West. The school car park is the first gate on the right after less than 100 meters.
Coming from the Wirral and Upton direction along the A41, look for the footbridge over the A41 dual carriageway. Turn immediately right into Plas Newton Lane. Follow the road down for about 1000 meters bearing left, then turn right down Brook Lane. Then turn left again into Kingsway West. The school car park is the first gate on the right after less than 100 meters.
Coming from the M53, come off at the Chester junction and head towards the city. At the large Hoole Roadroundabout (just past Hoole Hall), turn right onto the A41. Travel about 0.5 miles, and look out for the footbridge over the A41. Turn left just before this footbridge into Plas Newton Lane. Follow the road down for about 1000 meters bearing left, then turn right down Brook Lane. Then turn left again into Kingsway West. The school car park is the first gate on the right after less than 100 meters.
