Welcome!
We would be absolutely delighted to welcome you at St Michael’s Church. We know that visiting a new church for the first time can be daunting. We want to make sure your first experience of our church family is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and that you leave knowing that you belong here.
Our St Michael’s family is full of ordinary people with broken lives who are being transformed everyday by the Lord Jesus. No matter who you are, no matter what background you have come from, no matter what your circumstances are, no matter what…you are welcome here.

Firstly, we are a Jesus church and we are a people church. We love God and seek to follow Him and His Word with the whole of our lives. We love people and want to show them the unconditional love that God shows to us.
We are a lively, evangelical church that belongs to the Chester Diocese of The Church of England. In short, we believe in God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus lived a perfect life, that He died on a cross and was raised on the third day, and that He ascended to heaven with the Father. Until He returns, we are empowered by the Spirit to proclaim His Gospel, the Good News of Christ, to the ends of the earth that people might repent, believe and be saved!
We want you to feel comfortable, so please just be yourself and dress as you would normally dress.
Some wear casual clothes, some wear suits, some go smart-casual, and occasionally the kids dress up – come however you like!
There are plenty of car-parking spaces around the church, whether that is in our small car park (If you’re early enough) or on the roads nearby. There are lots of spaces within walking distance of the church.
As you come through the doors, you’ll be greeted by one of our stewards – they would be delighted to welcome you. You can ask them for some information about the service and what we have going on in the week, or you can take a printed notice sheet.
Then, simply walk straight through into the main church and take a seat wherever you like!
Lastly, just relax! You may wish to talk to people or you may wish to stay quiet and settle in – both are fine.
God-Centred
In a world that is so full of distractions, worries and difficulties, we love to gather together and fix our eyes back on the Lord Jesus. Every element of our service seeks to lift our eyes to Him.
Genuine
As a church, we really do love to meet together to worship the Lord and spend time encouraging one another and building each other up as church family. We’re there for more than religion, we’re there to worship and meet with Jesus and this comes across in our services.
Engaging
Our services leaders are interactive and engaging, our service style mixes both the contemporary with the traditional, our Bible preaching and teaching is faithful and relevant, and we have several groups aimed at younger generations, from creche for the little’uns to Sunday Youth. We aim to create a real family-feel in our services.
Encouraging
St Michael’s in an encouraging church both in our gatherings and individually. It is so good to be able to meet as God’s children and build one another up in our faith. Our worship has a real sense of togetherness as we join to sing, pray and gather around God’s Word. On a personal level, the people at St Michael’s are so welcoming, supportive and hospitable, and offer encouragement in the Christian walk.
This is a great time to stay around as church family and spend time with one another over tea, coffee and biscuits.
