i’m new

Welcome

We recognize that visiting a new church for the first time can be a bit scary.  At St Michael’s, we want to help your first visit to us as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.  If you are thinking of attending and have other questions, please feel free to contact us ahead of time.

Parking

We have a few options for you but please allow yourself a few minutes on Sunday to find a parking spot. We have a small parking area at the side of the church, but street parking is also available. Alternatively you could park on the Kingsway shops at the bottom of Coniston Rd and take a 2 minute walk up to the church from there.

What should I wear?

Just be you! We don’t have a dress code.

Is there anything for kids?

We have groups for children from age 0 to 15. There are DBS checked leaders and helpers in all our groups, so you can feel confident leaving them in their groups while you enjoy the service.

Children will join their parents for the first part of the worship service and then they will go out to their relevant groups. If you are new, it would be helpful if you went with them and signed them in.  When the service is over, children will stay in their session room until their parent/guardian collects them.

There are bags of toys and books available for little ones who would prefer to stay with you during the service.

How long will church last?

Our Main 10am Worship Services are usually 75 minutes in length. We also have a short 8am Communion Service which lasts 45 minutes and our Evening Service last around 60-75 minutes.

What do I do when I get there?

When you enter you will be greeted and offered a service sheet. This will have the order of the service and any notices on events happening throughout the following week.

Offering

We don’t pass around a collection plate/bag at St Michael’s. Our members & regular attendees like to contribute to God’s work through St Michael’s. As our guest, we want you to feel no obligation to participate, but if you would like to give some money towards the work of the church there is a collection box at the back.

Our hopes for your visit

We would love for you to find a place to connect with others here at St Michael’s.  Our hope and prayer is that the welcome you get at St Michael’s is a glimpse of the joy that is offered to us all through our love for Jesus Christ and His love for us. We would love to help you on your journey.

If you have any other questions, please do contact us through the details at the bottom of the page.

We look forward to seeing you.
