St Michael’s Church is committed to engaging in Mission in a wide variety of ways as an expression of its God-given commission.

We have a programme of evangelism, through which we seek to present to all the message of God’s Good News in Christ.  We co-operate as part of the Chester “Link-Up” group of churches in mission to the city of Chester.  There are active links with the Chester Schools Christian Work Trust and the “Link-Up” Primary Schools team.

The church seeks to encourage mission and evangelism on a wider front than just our own immediate area. The World Mission Committee exists to promote this activity, in particular supporting mission partners serving God abroad. St. Michael’s supports work in South America through the work of Hugo and Techi Vergara working in Northern Argentina.  A member of our congregation, Olive Frost, frequently visits various parts of the world and is able to use her medical skills to good effect.

In the UK we support the work of Jonathan and Helen Lee, working in Bristol with asylum seekers and refugees.

St Michael’s is also concerned to love and serve our neighbours in the parish of Newton, and so an ongoing programme of Community Outreach takes place.  This is particularly through the Kings Way Café, Pre-School & Toddlers, and The Older Group for senior residents.
