St Michael’s Church supports a number of people and organisations around the world who demonstrate the love of God in various ways, through prayer and financial support.
Keep scrolling to find out more information about the mission organisations we are actively supporting.

Youth With A Mission is an international volunteer movement of Christians from many backgrounds, cultures and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Their purpose is simply to know God and to make Him known.
One of our own young people is working with YWAM, staffing at a Discipleship Training School (DTS) in Australia, mentoring and facilitating small groups and doing outreach.
DTS emphasises cross-cultural exposure and global awareness, preparing students to answer the call to “Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations” Matthew 28:19.

Is a community of God’s people committed to biblical truth, passionate about sharing the gospel worldwide.
Serving In Mission is the UK branch of SIM, an international organisation with more than 4,000 multi-ethnic workers working around the world. They serve God in a huge variety of ways – from church planting and theological education, to digging for wells, running children’s activities in refugee camps, and translating the Bible into local languages.
The partner St Michael’s supports serves as an area director looking after partners in the Middle East.

Latin Link is an international ‘community with a calling’ to love and serve God and our neighbour, through multi-directional mission work. The community includes over 140 members, from around 20 nations, serving in 15 Country Teams across Latin America and Europe.
The team whom St Michael’s supports works in Northern Argentina, leading the diocese, helping to lead churches and to train new disciples. This also involves travelling across huge distances on poor roads and maintaining communication with the indigenous people groups in that area.

Fountain Of Life

St Michael’s supports the work and mission of Fountain of Life in Bishkek, Kyrgystan.
Fountain of Life’s vision is that they believe in the worth of every individual. They care for the people not recognised by society- the homeless of Bishkek.
Their purpose is to give holistic care (physical, emotional, spiritual) to the homeless. Through a day centre they provide hot meals and medical care three days a week as well as clothing and help with legal documents. Their Hospice provides palliative care so that the homeless with terminal illness may die with dignity.
They also have plans for a Halfway House for the homeless.

The International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) is an interdenominational association of 180 evangelical Christian student movements worldwide, encouraging evangelism, discipleship & mission among students.
Langham Partnership equips emerging Christian leaders from around the world to receive their PhDs in Bible and Theology and then serve the church in their nations. The graduates of these programmes currently serve in 90 countries across the world.
St Michael’s supports a partner in Central Asia who is completing his PhD through Langham Partnership whilst working in a leadership role with IFES.

Interserve is committed to seeing the lives and communities of Asia & the Arab World transformed through encounter with Jesus Christ, locally and overseas. Our Partners seek to use their professional skills to serve the countries and communities where they work, ministering to the whole person.
St Michael’s supports two families working to support communities with many cultures in Bristol and Birmingham, in the UK. One partner is also the chief communications officer for Interserve

In addition to supporting these specific partners we give support to other mission organisations in this country and overseas, as funds allow.
Short Term Mission Trips: We are often able to help our own members on short term mission trips.
We hold a monthly prayer meeting for our world mission partners on the second Monday of the month.

If you would like to be involved in what we do please contact: worldmission@stmichaelschester.com

We are working with Victor Chabala, the father of one of our former curates, Patches Chabala. Victor lives in Mwantalasha Village just outside the Zambian capital Lusaka. The economic situation, family breakdown and the AIDS/HIV epidemic has resulted in many children being unable to attend school, get an education and break the cycle of poverty into which they were born.

Members of the congregation, as well as other members of the charity, donate the equivalent of £10 a month which is sufficient to pay the school fees and requisites, a meal at lunchtime and a new school uniform each year. In addition one-off gifts are used to provide for well-being, support and benefit, directly or indirectly, of children in the program.

By the start of 2022, we expect to have over 85 children in the program. If you would like to support a child please contact Lorraine Cawley.

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:13-15
